Seller is another butcher. Parting out (apparently) perfectly good Model 19's! He's also clueless. He has an auction for 811b horns and seems to have no idea that the 802-8G drivers are not part of the horns. Probably because the 802-8G drivers that were installed in factory systems/cabs were unlabeled--he sees only one part number on the horn assembly (811b) and figures that's what the whole thing is called..... Starting bid $99--maybe they'll go relatively cheap and someone can at least get a deal on the horn/driver combo. He's also including the crossovers as part of the cabinets with a $599 BIN. Cabs look to be salvageable..... Woofers $475 BIN (surround goop looks "weird" but maybe just the lighting/photo?) FWIW, he says to make him an offer if you want everything--cabs, horns, and woofers--sounds like he'll cut a deal on the works. "JUST MAKE ME A PRICE ON THE WHOLE PACKAGE AND I WILL LET YOU KNOW." I hope someone does that and saves another classic Altec speaker system from being "cannibalized". Pano, that's your neck of the woods, isn't it? Anyone else who's "driving distance"--fill 'er up and step on it!![]()

Being of "Sound" Mind
I think he's looking to generate some fast cash.
Just revised, woofers were 599 BIN 20 mins ago. He's come down too fast, i'll bet you can buy em for even less than the 475.
If he leaves it alone, the auction for the horns/drivers will take care of itself.
I think he knows the value of what he has as a whole, but not the individual components.
Thankfully, he's not taking apart anything that can't be fairly easily put back together.
But those babies would sure look nice in my garage! ......I was thinking they would look nice in GM's HOUSE.
Yes, they would and thanks for the thought, but the only place they would fit are where the existing cabs are and not to put too fine a point on it, there's no production Altec I would swap them for.
